Alicia's House is really good, so that comes with a recommendation from me! I've stayed there twice now and would definitely stay there again. However I can't make it for carnival 2009 and by carnival 2010 I hope to be back living in T&T :D
But back To Alicia's House, very friendly staff who went out of their way to help us, big room, nice breakfast, etc, etc.

The Melbourne in is a great location. You just have to deal with some nosey people. No guests after 12am (even though the book reads 12pm) and dumb ass security guards. If you can get pass those things you will have a great place to stay. If you can book room 14 you will have a great room with a twin and full size bed dining area stove, great bathroom, and fridge. Don't take room 9.
