Blue Range's Blue Flame fete took place last night along with Bishops All Inclusive and Temperature The Concert, yet despite three big fetes taking place Blue Range tennis courts was PACKED... I think they need a bigger venue for 2010! If you have ever been to Blue Range before you know that it is not a "fancy" all-inclusive and is priced accordingly. I paid 295.00TT for my ticket (limited special reserve ladies only) since I put in my booking very early and thought overall the fete was worth that! The main issue I have with Blue Range is the no parking situation, you have to arrive early to find a park on the STREET!
I know there was a shuttle service in place and LOTS of security so your vehicle was relatively safe, but having to arrive early just to find a good parking spot can be an issue for those who like to make a late entrance. The food options were not as impressive as one of the bigger all-inclusives but I have never been to a Blue Range fete where the menu was much different. There was jerk chicken/pork with fries, shark'n'bake, roti, gyros, corn soup and haggen daz. If there was anything else on offer I missed it, the bar was good from Johnny Walker to Baileys to Malibu and even a cocktail station making margaritas .
The performances were also good, notice I did not say great as their time on stage was limited. Iwer opened the show and I swear whatever this man sings he mashes up the place!! The great thing about Blue Range is that you could be upfront close to the stage and not feel as if a mob was ready to trample you! So, I was able to take in all the performances and even got soaked with water from Iwer!
Bunji and Faye Ann were next with a super short performance, Faye Ann did take to the stage to give a sample of her Road March contender "Meet Superblue" . I admire her dexterity on stage, she was even jumping up during her performance.
Then we had Patrice who performed over a track which killed her performance for me, as even though she was singing live it appeared that she was lip syncing.
The man of the moment however was Machel Montano (without his band). He joined Patrice on stage and then stole the show of course, I think everyone was waiting to see Machel last night as he was given prominent billing on the advertisement for Blue Flame.
As I said before Blue Flame overall was a GOOD fete and worth the price I paid; it was a sampling of a little bit of everything and was truly well supported with a huge crowd turnout. No Moet et Chandon, no horse meat and no huge price tag... I was quite pleased with the "cheap fete"!

well talking about moet! I went to bishops as I did last year and I don't know where to start, when I got there which was around 5.30 ish I got in and went to the moet bar you couldn't missed it, it had huge decorated bottles of moet everywhere, and when I ask for moet the girl serving laughed and said it finished! so I told her I understand that laugh it never had any, she laughed again, so I took the immitation champayne and walked to the food area, long lines making circles was just plain ridiculous so we decided to dance and come back for food later, what a bad idea everything finish! we ate doubles and laughed because at this point I had no words, destra performed good and she looked sexy, roy cape did there thing I love blaxs song tusty!
now off to temperature or should I say "garbageture", anyways that was the worst, the amount of things I have to complain about in the so called vip area which looked like general I was confused for a minute, in a nutshell never me again, the things I want to say might be offensive to others so just use your imagination, in one word getto! I am going to bp later hopefully I will have a better time there, so what's your next fete saucy? choose them wisely lol
Boobs you are just a riot lol, love your reviews, and it looks like you feteing till the last light goes out. Saucy it seems that you really don't have to spend a lot to have a decent time.
well carnivalbaby I am gonna try lol, ok I just spoke to my girlfriend who was there before me and she said the food was amazing! she said they had ribs and all kind of different foods, she also said she got johnny walker blue but when she went back it had no more, now after spending 650.00 on a ticket don't tell me I have to come real early to get anything please! they did had some girls giving out the best margaritas I ever had in trini...
Well boobs, I also went to Bishops. Got there around close to 7 I would say and the moet and food were free flowing..bbq ribs et al. They probably replenished the stocks when u weren't looking
Boobs I went to Bishops as well and got there after 7. Pretty much drank strictly Moet from that point and it wasn't just one long drink. When I left after 10 there was still food to be had. So maybe you were looking in the wrong places. The lines were pretty damn long though, but I realised that was at the more popular stalls.
And about Temperature... I like how you dubbed it. LOL. But $275 for "VIP" in a fete that is $150 for general...simply means that they get the Very Idiotic People to fork over an extra $125 to stand closer to the stage. Nobody was ketchin' me in that Temperature mess again this year. steupss
Got a review from my brother who attended Bishops and he had a great time. I understand there was Johnnie blue being served. After about 4 drinks in 1 hours @ retail about $140-150TTD a glass he got full value of his ticket in short order. Wished I was there
My Bro also enjoyed the stewed "sea biscuit"..LOL
I reach Bishops bout 7 ... and was greeted with a glass of JW Blue (on de rocks) ... I also saw many people drinking champagne ... so I guess they really replenished ...
PS: Salsaman, I think I know your brother :-)
