A search at the Trinidad Hilton, Courtyard by Marriott and Hyatt hotels for a weeks stay during Carnival 2009 will turn up rooms, amazingly, still available! Many of the smaller guest houses have been booked solid since early 2008 as well, however I have found that "Best of Trinidad and Tobago" still has several properties still open for booking:
All these accommodations are still available for carnival 2009, but at this time of the year, close to carnival, places go fast, so whoever comes first with the down payment will get the place.
So, if you are STILL looking for a place to stay, check out Best of Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival Accommodation listing
HERE.

Just checked on the Marriott's site, and they seem to be all booked up now. Hilton and Hyatt still have rooms though. But for those prices, they could keep them!
Having said that, it would be excellent to stay at the Hyatt or Marriott, since there's almost no stress in getting to and from the band. You could meet the band on South Quay easy, easy, if you were staying in the Hyatt. But I'd rather pay that kind of money for a few nights in Stonehaven! ;)
A few hotels still have accommodation when I last checked. I was also checking out that Best of Trinidad and Tobago site and honestly, if there is a large group, it makes absolutely no sense at those prices. The rates do not get significantly better as the group increases - even if you are sharing a one bedroom or two bedroom. I really want to see how many places they get rented at that stupid rate system.
