The Silk Road Versus the Spice Route!

Carnival 2010 is shaping up to be a very interesting one in terms of expectations from bands and their themes. As I announced yesterday TRIBE's presentation for 2010 is "The Silk Road" while Spice is doing "The Spice Route". Both themes explore the Asian continent however the Spice route and silk road extends to different countries; the Silk Road is highlighted below in RED while the Spice Route is in BLUE:

The Silk Road passes through China, India, Persia and touches Africa/Egypt while the Spice Route encompasses Italy, Greece, Africa, India and the Javanese Islands. I can so see the costumes for BOTH bands!

Add Island People in the mix because their theme is "Kuchela" which is an East Indian condiment in Trinidad, a peak in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas as well as there is a mythological Hindu story about Lord Krishna and his friend Kuchela. Knowing Island People that theme can be interpreted a host of different ways though I am hoping they do a very nice East Indian flavored mas!

2009 Carnival is barely behind us and it is full steam ahead for 2010!

For some reason Tribe's theme brings to mind Island People's 2007 presentation Sahara. There were so many costumes that I wanted from that presentation, that even though people are always bawling remix I would not mind a Tribe version of Jewel of the Nile or Oasis...hint hint Richard and Anthony....LOL
Tribe please give us many back pack options this year please. More skimpy costumes with huge back packs and head pieces please and thanks :-)

Truly, all bands have great costume potential. I can envision all costumes, completely. I hope I'm not disappointed with silly pointedly shaped headpieces and so forth.

Cant wait to see what spice will come with! Hearing good things about them.

HATE exercising, never did it before but decided to try it for next yr.(Heavy T could use just ah lil work, lol)

For those in the west of trinidad, the gym in Westmall droped their prices, they have lots of classes to fit anyone schedule (classes early mornings, mid mornings and evenings). The instructors are great, hard on u, but very friendly. Lots of machines. Lots of trainers on the floor to help novices like me.

Started a few days ago so i can get accustom and i think i'll like it more when the pain goes away :(

Hope i can stick to it, wish me luck!(lots of it!) :)

And now that Carnival's over...the gym (Bio Fitness in West Mall) is pretty empty...until Sept/Oct I presume!!

well Shellss, i would not know what enpty is for that gym is, I never exercised before. To me they have a fair amount of people now, compaired to the other gyms i looked at when i was looking to join. So if that is empty and it becomes too much of a hassle i'll just forget it. I guess it is a good thing i joined so early, 5 mths to get bumper in shape then! lol

Computer playing up!

LMAO @ computer playing up. Kim empty (for me) is when I step into the Bio Fitness gym and see at least 3 treadmills or steppers available...or when i can actually open my 2 arms straight across or out front and not smack someone in aerobics class or actually get a bike without going through a mad rush in spin class.... trust me...now is empty :)

But then again....we go at different times...so I guess it depends...
