TRIBE Costume Post Mortem

Hi Saucy,

I'm DQ..an avid follower of your blog. Just wanted to tell you keep up the good work on a great job you're doing. It gives Carnival lovers like me such a great forum to express views, gain ideas etc. etc.

I was wondering though, would it be possible for you to write an article on TRIBE costumes on the road (seeing that was the band you played with). Specifically:
1) Which costumes surpassed your expectations on the road
2) Which costumes you thought were really hot but didn't quite live up to your expectations on the road
3) Which costumes surprised you i.e. weren't all that great at the mas camp but looked quite good on the road
4) Which costumes you thought were just as 'blah' as always.

Its just a suggestion, but i think it will foster great discussion (and probably arguments lol). I would also like to hear from other bands too..IP, Spice etc. on what they thought of the costumes on the road in general.
DQ, thanks for your letter. For comparison my original assessment of the costumes at the launch was as follows:

Least Favorite Costume – Flight of the Ibis

So-So costumes – Wild Parrot, Blue Tanager and Night Owl

Costumes with the extra oomph but I still had a problem with -Brazilian Macaw, Golden Dove

Superstars- Caged Canary, Hummingbird ,Kiskadee, Green Honey Creeper,Bird of Paradise, Ruby Topaz, Spangled Cotinga, Pheasant and African Love Bird.

1) Which costumes surpassed your expectations on the road?

I would have to say that Wild Parrot looked great on the road, surpassed my expectation because post launch it only ranked “so-so”.

Also Brazilian Macaw BACKLINE looked awesome with the large collar which was added after the launch, I initially thought the backline was way too plain but the added collar gave it the extra “oomph” that was missing before with just the tiny feathered shoulder pads

Spangled Cotinga and Kiskadee frontline surpassed how gorgeous I thought they were going to look. Even after all the drama of the skimpiness of Cotinga and the gold instead of silver, the whole section looked great ( though some ladies should choose costumes that better suit their body type) and the frontlines were just a huge feathered mass of gorgeousness!

Kiskadee's colour was outstanding on the road even though this frontline was not my first choice.

Hands down the best frontline costumes for me in terms of surpassing my expectation were Caged Canary and Ruby Topaz. The colours used in Caged Canary just lit up the streets I also loved, loved, loved the headpiece and hand pieces which photographed beautifully as well.

Ruby Topaz frontline was another stellar superstar. Gorgeous costume that I think was well suited to the petite frontliners that were selected to wear this one.

2) Which costumes you thought were really hot but didn't quite live up to your expectations on the road?

Although I still thought Brazilian Macaw Frontline was a superstar the fact that the colour red used on the headpieces and collar was VERMILLION and not ruby red lessened the impact of the costume for me personally. In all the photographs it looks like an orange red which does not match the ruby red of the bra and belt! The male costume for this one did not look as great as at the launch, they changed the style of the headpiece.

Pheasant was a superstar in my original pick after the launch but I think it got downgraded after I saw it on the road. I still think that some of the frontline costumes looked great on SOME people because it looked better on some complexions than others, but the backline costume just looked too “muted”. I loved Pheasant male costume though!

Another costume that I loved at the launch but was just so-so on the road was Hummingbird. The red beak on the headpiece fell oddly on some women, obscuring their face too much. Also I thought the green was a bit too dark and not as shimmery, could be that this costume needed brilliant sunshine to fully appreciate it but under the overcast conditions of Carnival Tuesday the green to me just looked too dark, not enough shimmer!

The fact that they changed the bra for Green Honeycreeper totally changed the look of the costume for me; it was my least favorite on the road! Not to mention the cheap bra they used broke. I lost count of how many women I saw with the back of the bra tied up and my friend had her friends in that section and they both had their bra clasp break as well before we even crossed the Savannah stage. The design on the bra would have looked so much better on a nice padded bra but that cheap spandex bra looked disappointing. Still loved the headpiece though.

I always liked Golden Dove backline; I thought it was a pretty costume. However I did not see this section in total numbers but heard it was scanty! Anyway it fell short on the road as well for me; did not like the shade of yellow in the sunlight. The frontline (ONE I saw in a photograph) did look better than the launch however so that was a good thing.

3) Which costumes surprised you i.e. weren't all that great at the mas camp but looked quite good on the road?

Although I always LOVED Bird of Paradise costume after seeing it close up at the mas camp I switched my initial costume choice from this section to another after worrying about how the “nude” shade would look on my complexion. Well this costume looked GORGEOUS on the road on all shades of women. I absolutely LOVED it and the clip on tail of the frontlines. This would have been section #1 for me if I were to put a neutral shade first as it blew Pheasant out the water.

4) Which costumes you thought were just as 'blah' as always?
Scarlet Ibis and Owl, my opinion on those did not change.

Hey Saucy! Love your opinions & agree with most!

I agree re: Wild Parrot, to me it looked beautiful on the road. Bird of Paradise was fabulous, good move changing the original design!

I didn't like Brazilian Macaw or Scarlet Ibis from launch to the road. They could have scrapped them both IMO, although I do appreciate that the Macaw caged bra was tastefully done.

I was pleasantly surprised by Owl...I thought the headpiece would be extremely scary, but in person I found it looked very nice.

i m ust say .. i thought Kiasadee was LOVELY

1)Which costumes surpassed your expectations on the road
-Bird Of Paradise- really loved this from the start but ppl changed my views on it. Bravo to the designer
-Spangled Contingia ( My costume Envy on the road)
-Kiskadee- loved it!
-Parrot- really well made and love the colours.
*Pheasant Male- OMG..lol

2) Which costumes you thought were really hot but didn't quite live up to your expectations on the road

-Brazilian Macaw Frontline- looked cheap
-African Love Bird- A bit dull and the parts didn’t gel well together.
-Caged Canary Backline- Really nice but seemed to be missing something, I cant put my fingers on it exactly.( I PLAYED IN THIS)
-Ruby Topaz backline- really looked cheap and the headpiece “popped down” (for want of a better word).

3) Which costumes surprised you i.e. weren't all that great at the mas camp but looked quite good on the road
-Hummingbird- girls who wore purple boots really brought this one out.
-Pheasant- much better than it looked at the mas camp.

Nice review of the costume execution on the road. Bird of Paradise, ALB, Caged Canary, Spangled Cotinga and Kiskadee looked fantabulous on the road. Flight of the Ibis and Golden Dove, still in my opinion were blah. Was a bit disappointed with the impact of Green honeycreeper and Hummingbird, something just seemed to be missing. The others not mentioned were aight, nothing had changed in my opinion of them. I was impressed though by the design of the caged bra for Macaw, it was skimpy without looking obscene.

p/s:-I notice though that ALB and Blue Tanager were not mentioned in any of your categories.

Saucy aka "The Sauce" said...

My thoughts on Blue Tanager and African Love Bird did not change from the launch.

I loved African Love Bird on the road and the many variations of the costume though I agree with someone who said that African Love Bird was a bit dull but I knew this from before when I saw the matte beads close up. Not too sure I liked the skirt on everyone, there were some girls who made the skirt shorter which looked nice and then the ones that chose to loop the ends on their arms looked good as well. In some cases the skirt overwhelmed some masqueraders, especially if it was worn with large headpiece and large collar!

Blue Tanager was just "so so", looked better on some than others.

Medvision,

The Ruby Topaz backline headpiece is interesting. A friend of mine played in that section, and at the mas camp they told her that once it was on your head you were supposed to mold it to make it look like the models. My friend did, but I noticed on the road that a lot of people forgot to mold theirs...not as pretty IMO!

I still think I picked the best of the 3 options I had - Blue Tanager. No real complaints other than it was just ok & 'safe'. By far, my fav on the road was Spangled Contingia (road envy as Medvision put it) and I loved the vibrancy of Caged Canary. Parrot was one of my least fav at launch but I liked it on the road. My biggest disappointment was Green Honeycreeper. This was initially my top choice but for me it just didn't fare as well on the road. Not sure if it was the shade of green or what. I've got to figure out a way to have more options come registration time later this year. Overseas registration could be tough!

Is it just me or has anyone noticed how much fewer photos are posted online of Golden Dove, Parrot and Owl??

lover tanager's head piece and it wasnt all that bad on the road.. as someone put it "safe". I love my caged canary backline but found it need something more to make it match de frontline which was jus beautiful.

Golden Dove was a very small section, on the Video that Toronto Lime shows it barely looks like 50 people! In the TRIBE magazine not many photos of Dove either, several people were in duplicate shots!

For section galleries try Carnival Scene; they have one gallery per section but are still updating daily.

Yes, indeed.

I had high hopes for Caged Canary. And, my, my, my the section rocked. This was my rave section after, after launch. I loved it too bad. The frontlines on the road were divine (I have a favorite one ;) ) Many women and young ladies brought out their A-games to show off this costume. And one of my favorite observations of the BEST carnival spirit was a lady in this section who is from Orlando, FL. The section really made a bacchanal on the road!

Ruby Topaz frontline flew into my garden and blew me away! I did not even pay attention to this section at launch. My "niece" rocked her costume and was one of the most stunningly photogenic masquerader of all of Carnival 2k9!

Yeah, we all knew Spangled Cotinga would have been hawtness on the road. It was!!! The sexiest women were in this section. And maybe the least also. That's ok though, because the former overwhelmed the section.

The most disappointing SECTION to see on the road was Hummingbird. The "beak" thing was wack. The Hummigbirds never flew and they ran out of a vital sweet, sweet nectar.

The most subconcious attraction for me on the road was Brazilian Macaw. I can't explain it, but I was kinda drawn in. Oh, not because Destra was in it, eh. ;)

Saucy, on da jep sting, doh put no alcohol on dat. It go make matters worse! LOL (the picture is an eye popper ;) )

For me,

Surpassed Expectations: Brazilian Macaw backline - that collar was hot hot hot! The colours popped and it looked great in the end. Pheasant Frontine - though I agree it looked better one some - the headpiece and backpack were feathered fabulousity. Caged Canary: I knew it would be gorgeous and I loved loved loved how the colours looked on the road.

Thought was hot, but didnt live up to expectations: I'm going to go against most people here when I say I think Spangled Cotinga didnt look as hot on the road. I saw too many frontlines whose monokinis didnt quite fit properly. The backline looked cute tho, but I had higher thoughts of it before seeng it on the road. I still think ALB is abeautiful costume, but it just didnt wow me on teh road like it did before. I still think its the best male cosutme to come along in a long time - especially those guys brave enough to rock some tight shorts with it. I didnt quite like Ruby Topaz and GHC either on the road as much as before.

Surprises: I thought Birds of Paradise looked better than expected. The bra change was a definite improvement, but still wasnt my fave costume. Wild Parrot also looked better than expected.

Blah as always: Night Owl and Golden Dove. I was eagerly trying to spot a Golden Dove FL , but only managed to see one online after. Those were my two least fave costumes. Pheasant backline was always a bit blah for me and I dont think it was that great on the road either.

lol @ some people should choose costumes that better suit there body type lol

anyways I was in caged canary frontline with my extra or should I say less changes lol anyways that section rocked! everyone looked fab boots makeup everything they really went out there way, I even wore my headpiece longer than previous years, normally I would see another section and say damn I prefer that section, not this year I loved caged canary fab costume, I did love ruby topaz on the road I love the frontline waist band it was hot!

I really end up loving brazilian macaw frontline it looked beautiful with the collar and headpiece, some of the chicks was way too skinny in this section though, so ladies who always talk about who to big to be in what section there is a thing as too skinny trust me! I hated the backline it looked like red rat hair on the bra.

I loved spangled continga but after seeing it on the road it wasn't all that, the headpiece was fab though, and some chicks in this section really needed adjusting there costume, some wear it well and some I dunno.

I loved kiskadee's frontline it looked fab! some chicks went out there way and made this costume look amazing(wink) if the waistband was smaller I would've made that one of my options, I like my waistband thin lol.

I didn't like pheasant at all apart from the headpiece,I don't know how the designer thought a gold 2 piece was gonna compliment that headpiece stuueepss! I thought they were storming the band I wanted to know where they came from, but my friend said they were part of tribe lol.

green honey creeper looked blah I dunno how some designers in tribe are just on top of there game and some are just stuck at the back of the class, some of these sections just got by because people want to play in tribe because they sure would've stayed on the shelf.

I end up loving birds of paradise on the road! some of the ladies in this section just wore it well and looked amazing!

I hated scarlet ibis and owl and I never saw wild parrot on the road.

now I noticed all of this before 10am when I was sheltering by the gas station on our way to the savannah, after 10 I was getting my buzz on and I stopped noticing anything after that lol

Brazilian Macaw (played in that section) was Hot. I thought the women in that section were on point. Almost everyone had on some fab boots or added something extra to their costumes. However, my one gripe would be those orange feathers on both the Frontline costumes and on the male head pieces, they were dangerous. Those things were like daggers, if you happen to get to close to one of those chicks you got one poke. The tips were sharp, someone should have reconsidered this one; I saw many a people getting poked; it looked very painful; a definite hazard. Caged Canary was the show stopper to me. The colours were vibrant, they popped and the costume was very sexy. When it was overcast BM and CC lit up the streets. The colours on both were gorgeous and I thought they were both sexy. I was backline w/ the collar; the hair on my costume did not feel nor look like rat hair; Boobs, maybe some had gotten wet. I thought a lot of detail and care went into BM costumes. I loved it from the launch and even more on the road. It was perfect. CC did not blow me away originally, no matter how much I looked at it, but on the road it was the HSIT. Ruby Topaz was another gorgeous one. Spangled Continga was ok, did not blow me away. Did not see many of the other sections, just a few stragglers here and there since the size of the band had been reduced (wink) I felt the band was comprised of only a few sections.

IP costumes ( I played in Love option B and Dream Frontline, so because of personal experience i left them out).

1) Which costumes surpassed your expectations on the road?
Aphrodisiac – If I had seen this costume in person, I would’ve played in it. This costume was one of the overall best costumes, even with the frontline backpack poking people.

Ocean Whispers - Even though this costume was not intended for the Heavy T girls. It was wicked, they looked liked they were glowing at one point.

Love Male – OMG they was sexy as hell in that costume.

2) Which costumes you thought were really hot but didn't quite live up to your expectations on the road

Carnival – The headpiece was too small and it was missing something and Angel falls frontline – a big disappointment.

3) Which costumes surprised you i.e. weren't all that great at the mas camp but looked quite good on the road

Heavenly sky and Touch – they looked gorgeous on the road

4) Which costumes you thought were just as 'blah' as always?

Midnight bloom, caramel it was more of a gray color, and
Angel falls backline

IP costumes -
I played in Rays of Light backline and it was exactly what I expected from beginning to end!! FANTABULOUS! The frontline however didn't look much different to the BL on the road. Disappointing.

1) Which costumes surpassed your expectations on the road?
Touch - I wasn't impressed at the Mas Camp, however when I saw it on Tuesday, the pink looked rich and vibrant...I loved the headpiece mostly.

Heavenly Sky - This one really stood out similiar to touch. The wings looked fabulous, so did the feathered skirt. It really took me by surprise and I actually preferred it over mine.

2) Which costumes you thought were really hot but didn't quite live up to your expectations on the road

Carnival – It just had too little on the costume (no feathers, not much beads if any, small headpiece), I thought it would have made a bigger impact, but, it didn't.

3) Which costumes surprised you i.e. weren't all that great at the mas camp but looked quite good on the road.

Angel Falls, was very glitzy and looked really well with the right make-up and accessories.

4) Which costumes you thought were just as 'blah' as always?

Like Ms. Sexy, Midnight bloom, caramel and chocolate in addition to Love, and ocean whispers.

Can't recall seeing any Afrodisiac or Paradisius.

I saw very little F.Liners, only Angel Falls, ROL and Heavenly Sky with the wings. They all looked ok...nothing too spectacular.

OOOHHHH this is too easy and fun to resist!

WINNERS:
Brazilian Macaw - The frontline was stunning as a group. The pics speak for themselves. The floor complimented them well, but the furry bra was givin some trouble.

Spangled Cotinga - All round great looking section.(despite my many issues with the quality). Some ppl should really know when their bodies are just not suited to such a skimpy costume.

Hummingbird - I just loved the colour and i'm a sucker for sparkliness!

Caged Canary - I would never wear pink - but it looked fab on the road.

Wild Parrot - ONLY because of all the costumes this was the one that represented the theme best. It really look like a parrot!. I saw a fella winin in a tree on the savannah in this section and he look like a bird in a tree!

Green HoneyCreeper - Gorgeous colour. Loved the headpiece.

GENERICS
African Lovebird - very disappointing as I loved this costume. Too matt.

Blue Tanager - generic! The individual dude stole the show!

Kiskadee/Golden Dove - perhaps because I am never a fan of a yellow big bird costume!

Night Owl - generic, Except for the headpiece. Have to give the designers props for a very good owl representation.

Ruby Topaz - perhaps because I hardly saw it on the road, to me it was forgettable. And looked like smthn I saw last year!

LOSERS
Flight of the Ibis - was just too plain for this day and age. Very dull, even in pics.

Pheasant - I have a problem when the male costume looks better than the female! I was jealous when i collected my bf's costume but SOOO relieved when I saw the ladies on the road. I did not like the bra at all. The costume looked like something that would have been acceptable 5 yrs ago.

Bird of Paradise - This costume was wrong wrong wrong from the get go. The cream bra looked like a cream bra! This colour needs to be rediculously blinged up to look good and it just wasn't. The lacking feathers of the floor headpiece was also quite sad looking. Plus smthn about this costume always reminded me of Cheetara from thundercats!!! No offense to anyone in this section. But its easily the only costume in the whole band that I actually hated!

mjsbunny said...

Caged Canary was gorgeous and was the only section I wish I'd played in. That orange and pink was probably the best combination of colour I've ever seen in a costume! The FL for that section was absolutely amazing.

However, I was totally rocking the Pheasant FL. That Headpiece was gorgeous and I LOVED my backpack!! The gold totally suited my complexion and I think the colour perfectly complemented the earth tones of the headpiece and backpack.

I agree with others about Bird of Paradise though. I didn't like it at all at registration, but it looked brilliant on the road, which was a pleasant surprise.

I also really liked ALB and Hummingbird, but felt let down by GHC and Scarlet Ibis. I really wanted Ibis to work, but it just didn't come off at all.

Brazilian Macaw was also so pretty.

I think this year, the costumes were the best in any band. The colours were so vibrant and the actual designs were gorgeous.

I cannot wait for next year!!

Well, here's Caiso's two cents:

COSTUME OF THE ROAD AWARD:

Caged Canary (Frontline ONLY)...the frontliners were beatiful..GT WARRIOR...stole the show for me. The backline CC..hated it on the road. Looked a mess.

COSTUME I REALLY LOVED:

Well, my own ofcourse..Kiskadee..it was just beautiful...hands up...BRIGHT and popped on the road. check meh blog for updates nuh lol

COSTUMES THAT SURPRISED ME:

Humming Bird - looked beautiful
Wild parrot - It looked really nice -- always liked it, but such a teenage costume
Bird of Paradise -- This was one of my top choices...but was told that it wouldnt look good on my complexion. I loved it on the road!
Blue Tanager: I actually loved wild parrot on the road..but again cute for teenagers!

COSTUMES THAT WERE A DISAPPOINTMENT:

Spangled Continga - i hated it on the road...just did nothing for me...very predictable costume....most frontliners looked a mess.

Green Honeycreeper - THANK DE LORD I didnt choose it and it was actually one of my choices that I changed last minute.

Pheasant - gross! de backpack was hot though.

COSTUME ENVY: Brazilian Macaw frontline! I wish I chose it. I loved it on the road...more than my kiskadee frontline. The bra initially scared and i thought my D cups would not survive it but when i saw it in person, I would have be A OK!!!. I hated that the red on the headpiece and collar did not match the red bra... but i loved it.

COSTUME THAT HAD POTENTIAL: African Love Bird...the makeup on the ladies were stunning and the male costumes were FABULOUS. I knew that altogether in their sections this costume would be very dull but when scattered throughout the band, the costumes were beautiful against the yellows and pinks/oranges.

COSTUME THAT WAS CUTESY:
Ruby Topaz...and Nikki's Frontline stole the show for me...she was all I remembered seeing...she rocked.

Emprezz Diva said...

I am still trying to figure out why Birds of Paradise was pushed to the back...that was my first choice until I saw the website pics and made a mad beeline to Caged Canary (WHICH WAS JUST THE BEST!! Still can't believe this wasn't #1 for me from day one...one of the BEST costumes I play in). I loved the color contrast of the stones and the diamante detailing! Just GENIUS!!

The ONLY costume I caught myself having costume envy for was Brazilian Macaw (FRONTLINE ONLY, the backline was to safe)...when I realized that the bra gave alot more covering than showed at the launch. I woulda definitely rocked the hell out of this FL!

I HATED Wild Parrot, Night Owl & Blue Tanger and actually made jokes with my friend who were in desperatiion looking for costumes and told them if they in any of these they can't be in my pictures LOL...Wild Parrot was THE ONLY one that I felt looked FAB on the road! The others were just as I thought...too boring (I must admit that the headpiece for Tanager was too cute!)

African LoveBird fell flat on darker complexions and sorry but I need some shimmier in my costumes.

I agreed with EVERYTHING you said about Pheasant...that costume was just a HOT MESS!! From far, up close, fromt left, from right, in the sun, under the night lights just a MESS! The only thing saving that was the Pheasant feathers in the frontline costumes.

Spangled was a hot gyal section!! Most ladies I saw in this section (and CC) body was ON POINT!!

Caged Canary - FABULOUS

Spangled Cotinga - not sure what it was but I didn't love it as much on the road...something was missing

Blue Tanager - LOVED the individual - was there anyone else in that section? forgetable

Ibis - never liked this costume and my opinion did not change once on the road

Kiskadee - I loved this costume on the road - was on my list

Brazilian Macaw - did not shine as I expected...the frontliners were hot but just didn't standout as i thought it would have...

Green Honeycreeper - VERY disappointed with this costume on the road. Another forgetable costume. This costume was on my short list so glad I did not play in this costume.

Birds of Paradiss - was afraid of the "nude" non-color but it shined on the road.

Pheasant - WHAT A MESS...

Wild Parrot - looked much better on the road

Hummingbird - don't remember seeing it on the road

Golden Dove - oh well...hated the color then and on the road

Night Owl - blah

Ruby Topaz - frontliners were fabulous - don't remember the backliners - all I saw was Nikki

Ok so time for my lil two cents. Lewwe start from the top:
1)Pheasant- BLAH! In fact..double BLAH! I cah believe I almost get chain up to play in this section..thank God I talked my friends out of this one. After seeing this costume on the road, I def not lettin dem pick for me next yr.

2)Blue Tanager-Did not impress me b4, but I found that it looked surprisingly decent on the road. Loved the shade of blue, loved the feathery wings on the bra strap.

3) Now for the winner- Brazilian Macaw!!! Ok Ok, so I a lil biased cuz i played in that section..but seriously though..that red yellow and blue looked HOTTTT!!! We lit up d road for sure.

4) Hummingbird- was never a fan, still not a fan

5)Spangled Cotinga- Frontline costumes- HOTTTT!!! That monokini ting win! And as for the feathers..love the plumage on this one. Backline costume..uhhh..I doh think it was worth that $3600.

6)Kiskadee- Pretty costume. Wasn't more or less than was expected

7)Caged Canary- I always found this costume was bare..and I doh mean skimpy..jus bare. My mind didn't change when I saw the backline. Loved the frontline though. I must give props to the designer for trying something different. Loved the colour combination

8)Night Owl- Hated it. I jus find brown and earth tones doh work for Carnival. Carnival is about colour for me. Dis brown ting jus doh cut it.

9)Golden Dove- Very blah..hardly noticed this costume at all.

10)Bird of Paradise- Impressed me. I thought I wouldn't like this costume because of the dullness of the colour, but that splash of orange coupled with those beautifully made collars just took the cake with this costume. Very nice

11)ALB- Definitely one of my favourites!!! My God I loved this costume. Peter Elias..yuh come good! Talk bout couture in d mas! LOL

12) Wild Parrot- For being one of the least fav. sections, I think it blew some of the more popular sections out of the water. Loved the colours! The headpiece was smokin! This costume definitely surprised me..I thought it was new. LOL

13)Green Honey Creeper- This was my initial first pick, but since we played in green last yr, my friends didn't want to again. Boy was I glad they talked me out of this costume. This was one of my biggest disappointments on the road. Talk bout dull!

14)Ruby Topaz- Cah remember this section on the road. Maybe it was too far in the back. But somehow, it still reminds me of Isis from last yr..cah get that out my mind.

Ummm..that's it?
No wait

15) Scarlet Ibis- I almost 4get this one. I guess that says it all?

SAGAGYUL said...

Lets see,...all-round road fave..Spangled Cotinga, especially the frontline, the monokini design, stones, headpiece/backpiece was awesome and refreshing, and the color splendid.. (I may be a bit biased)...2nd place for me..Brazilian Macaw frontline, the girls that wore it almost all had the perfect bodies for it; still thought I would be more blown away than I was; not thrilled with the backline..3rd place, Caged Canary Frontline, the color combo was great, also the headpiece and armpieces; otherwise, not too special, backline, just nice. I still dont get all the hoopla about ALB; wasnt thrilled b4; still not thrilled. Kiskadee looked really good. Blue Tanger, better than expected. Pheasant was a huge disappointment over the original; still wondering what that section was doing up front; Max and all. Owl, Golden Dove and Flight of the Ibis..why??? The rest, just ok or not worth mention. Just my humble opinion.

So is only Tribers and Island Ppl we have on this blog? lol What about Spice? The little I saw of that band was absolutely beautiful. From afar they looked exactly like the prototypes. I could be wrong..someone from Spice, comment nah.
