At the close of TLC registration tonight at 8PM there are three costumes still standing:
Habotai - Female
Serica - Female
Silk of Rajasthan - Male
Good luck to the 2009 masqueraders, hoping to get one of those three gems. My pick of the lot is Habotai, at least the small headpiece is cute and you can cut off the tassels... Serica, well, no help for that one! And seems like men do indeed want board shorts because Silk of Rajasthan male is still open!

so...i'm a bit confused by this whole thing. am i to understand that ONLY Charmeuse is COMPLETELY sold out (ie online and in-house) because it is the ONLY one with the SOLD OUT banner across the pic??
also, when is in-house registration going to be open? since they insisted there was different inventories for online an in-house. I don't recall seeing any messages, post crash about combining of inventories. so all these "sold out" costumes, should really in actuality, not be sold out...but really have a sizeable inventory remaining, correct? if not, let ME know (and the others who I'm sure would appreciate knowing).
Clearly you were not around for registration last year when open registration was ONLY done online. Sorry to say but looks like In House will never reopen.
All sections are SOLD OUT except for the costumes listed here.
Jeez I am glad I'm not a 2009 masquerader, i would be very pissed off that Tribe decided to stop issuing TLCs that year! This whole system needs a total overhall, because the fact that somebody who has played once with Tribe in a previous year gets priority over someone who has played once, this year, seems unfair. I guess there is going to be actually NOTHING left for open reg!
In which case.... who wanna sell me 2 male costumes?!
What happen to Silk of Rajasthan? After all this nonsense about men not wanting board shorts and all that nonsense, the only section that's offering something else than boardshorts, is the last one to sell out?
TRIBE look like they was right to ignore all that yes, because all men seem to want IS the board shorts and a wrist band so they could drink themselves into oblivion and wine up on random women.
The TLC system dow need overhauling and TRIBE realise this, hence the fact that they haven't issued any for 2009 masqueraders. I hope they're looking at the frequency with which you've played, i.e. you played in 2005 then didn't play until last year or something. Because this system is unsustaiable as they realise.
I agree the whole system is failing, but I think just stopping issuing TLCs is not the answer! They should have fixed the whole thing one time not suspend it while they think! Someone who played once years ago is more loyal than someone who played once last year? Doesnt make sense.
I think they need different categories for number of years played.
For example, if you have played all 5 years, you get a red card, any 4 years you get a blue card, any 3 years a green card, any 2 years a purple card, and only played once before you get a yellow card.
Then red registration begins one morning, blue that afternoon, green and purple the next day, yellow and newbies on the 3rd day. Each year they would have to add a category (for all 6 years, and so on), and if you play one year you move up to the next category.
Saucy girl i was not around last year...and therefore i really did not pay attention to save myself the heartache and pain of not being able to be home.
My inquiry was not personal however, I just thought of it and was sure it applied to many who now have thier answer...unfortunately for them.
I completely agree with SLK though, at this rate there is absolutely nothing left for 'open registration'...they should not even bother with 2009 masquerader registration as it stands...just put the people out of thier misery now they have no hope online or otherwise (as your comment suggests). I say they start getting accustomed to the idea of widening thier horizons...there are MANY other costumes out there!!! If I did not get through I done see costumes in even Harts that more dan 'mek d grade'.
hubby never played and this is the first time he wanted to.. I have played for years and I got in.. now what should I do for hubby :-(.. I guess check to see who selling later on.. :-(
Hubby could play in Silk of Rajasthan...
carnivalchick I have the exact same problem, my hubby and his friend have never been to carnival before (or even Trinidad).
Bunny I think even silk of raj will have gone after 2009 reg.
Looks like I'm gonna be searching all the resale websites!
Do Tribe operate a waiting list, like to sell the costumes people register for but then never pay their downpayment?
This is why I am really ****** that the UK launch isnt going to have reg anymore - after advertising they were, selling tickets, and then very quietly changing their mind! I know some people who could have registered last weekend, but hadnt heard the reg at the UK launch had been cancelled, and decided to wait till they'd seen the costumes in the flesh!
