SMA Best Mas Band Award winning BACHANAL MAS! Presents "TRADITIONS" our theme for 2010, We will be portraying Ole time Mas with a new look! traditional Characters such as: Midnight Robber, Soucouyant, Fancy Indian, Jabmolassi, Fancy Sailor, Arawaks, Pierriot Grenade and Blue Devils!
On the night you will be able to view ALL designs for the 8 sections including the 3 different options in each. There will also be a few sample costumes on display so you get the idea of what direction we going in!

Mjsbunny cum on now!!! can we stop comparing everything to tribe!! especially as you have not even seen ah costume as yet!! for a start we dont even have alot of the costumes Tribe had! ie Dame Lorraine, Jean and Dinah, Fireman, Majorette, Dragon and Jab Jab!
but we do have plenty they didnt ie Soucouyant, Baby Doll, Arawaks and Blue Devils! so i would kindly ask you guys to wait until we actually launch on Saturday 5th Dec
and you see some of the real costumes and designs!
remember although you guys like to think carnival starts and stops at Tribe it dont lol! :-)

Thank you Bo! i aint doing a macfarlane but nor am i doing las vegas either lol! some people acting like everything originates from Tribe and stops there! lol i mean whats Tribe playin this year? an Asian theme along wit Spice, Legacy and IP! they also need to remember we in london! not trinidad where costumes are a 1/3 of the cost in trinidad!

I'm looking forward to Bachanalmas interpretation of traditional mas characters with a new look. Not necessarilly a new concept, but the artistry of the costumes could be what makes it appealing or succesfull. It's good to see the "roots" of carnival rekindled at times over the years, although some characters can be entirely played out. How much more fancy can the fancy sailor be?? I believe we've seen it all over the years. But seriously, the artistry of the designers interpretation of these charcters could be what sets it apart from the rest. I'm looking forward to it.
I can't be at the launch but I look forward to what Bachanal Mas bring out every year, its always fresh staying true to the theme. Glad to see the theme being taken back to the roots cos those who know Notting Hill carnival will know that it does need to be reminded of what mas is now and where it came from!
And yes, the world does not start and end with tribe and comparison is futile. Two completely different kettles of fish! Love me a tribe costume, love me a Bachanal Mas costume!
