So, coming out of Island People's feedback forum, Roadworks 2, is the revelation that the band will be changing it's former policy and will make a lunch stop for Carnival 2010:
Check out the Meeting outcomes below from the last Road Works Session!
ROAD WORKS 2 MEETING OUTCOMES.... Tell me the Honest Route!
Should we go downtown?
Yes, majority of the masqueraders would like to go downtown
Would like to get downtown early – some suggestions to make this happen –
Start here at IP Mas Camp (officially allowed to leave from your band house) and end in stadium (parking in stadium, shuttling masqueraders to Mas camp)?
Start at Victoria Square? Breakfast at Victoria Square and go to the first judging point there?
The intention is to go downtown, but the reality is that things may change on the day, on the road. There are scouts on the road assessing the flow. If the route changes it’s because we are looking out for the interest of the masqueraders – don’t want to have people waiting.
Will discuss with NCBA the most practical starting point and where we can go first as they try to separate the big bands from hitting all the judging points at the same time.
In order to get downtown early, masqueraders need to assist the band in starting/deploying on time
Should we stop to eat and where?
The plan for 2010 is to stop to eat
Rest time is scheduled for 1 hour, give or take, depending on the movement of other bands on
the route
There will be finger foods available throughout the day on the road
Problem with trucks separating during the day
Due to the size of the wheels on 3 or 4 of the trucks, there were problems turning on St. Vincent St. These trucks are not being used next year.
On the agenda for the next Road Works session, which takes place on Friday December 11, from 6-7pm at Island People's mas camp is “Security, For Surety…..The Priority!”

Hey, On Tuesday Ronnie and Caro is usually the First band to hit downtown because the gather at the twin towers and have breakfast then line up and get ready to take Medium Band of The Year and on Monday they are downtown by 11;30 because they start at their macamp on The Avenue and go !! Sausy i Love you and your blog !! and i am also a carnival baby born On the LAST day in January
Saucy, i was wondering if you can tell me the order of Ronnie and Caro section line up > Sorry 4 being off topic
I never studied the line up for Ronnie and Caro or for that matter any other band apart from TRIBE :)
See you on the road w/ Ronnie and Caro, TriniBoy!!!
Mz No Behaviour i have a friend in your section so i will see you . Are you frontline ??
Saucy thank you
There is nothing wrong with downtown ONCE rain DOES NOT FALL! It is not a nice feeling jumping up in flood waters 0_o...
I dont understand why ppl concerned about safety since MOST bands use rope and 'bouncers' to keep non-masqueraders out. Once you stay away from Picadilly st. you should have no problems.
Stop for lunch, then don't stop for lunch. Please. People don't know what de a$$ they want.
The better idea is to not head for downtown first. It's NEVER a good idea for ANY big band. They all suffer through that day-long Downtown congestion. That sticking scene in town will wear you out quick sharp. Just head to the Savannah first and everywhere else after that.
BTW, kudos to Ronnie and Caro for gathering in front of the Twin Towers first. That is a brilliant move on their part.
Don't sleep - Ronnie and Caro is the place to be in 2010!
And how come Saucy, you have never looked into the line up for any other band? Thought it was a carnival blog.
It's a Carnival blog from a personal perspective, since I don't play in another band I do not have the information to make guesses on their line up.
I have played with Harts before but they have a system where sections all have letters that tell you where they will be placed in the band so no need to guess, with TRIBE my observation came after years of playing with them.
Maybe someone who plays with the other bands can tell their experience of how it goes in their band of choice.
Probably, bloggers with knowledge of other bands could share their insights on line ups???
I dont understand why these bands make section line-ups so difficult. In Macfarlane exactly how the sections appear in the mas camp is exactly the same order on the road. Furthermore, he has billboards attached to the music trucks to help you out.
