The Usual TRIBE Post Registration.. Post!

It is one hour, approximately, after the start of TRIBE's registration for TLC holders which for the first time took place ONLY online. At this time only two female costumes remain, Artic Warriors and Sashura. If you want to amuse yourself you can check out the TRIBE Facebook Fanpage where people are slowly dying over not getting into TRIBE or you can scurry over to Carnival Junction where incredibly costumes are already up for sale and swap!

There must be some TRIBE fairy sitting on my shoulder because every year for online registration I can not only get into the system, I can also go right through to the point of paying , getting my costume and last year when the system crashed I was able to stay inside for hours watching them juggle costumes around.

I follow the same advice that I dole out to everyone, and yes I know sometimes things happen like with credit cards not going through and the like, but most of the people who I know that get through online each year also follow these steps, which is really pure common sense.

You cannot wait until registration has started to ask for a link to the page, you should have that page open along with the word document where you have already typed up your billing information, email and telephone number to cut and paste in the required fields. Also remember to choose the down payment figure if that is all you are paying or else the default option is FULL PAYMENT and your Credit Card May not have the required funds. It is also important to know your 3 digit security code on your credit card, enter the expiry date and year in the EXACT format and  billing address must be the same address listed on the credit card; oh the perks of being a rabid online shopper!

So with that said this was me 5 minutes before registration began, my login info already saved on the page so all I had to do was click for username and paste my password:

And when I got into TRIBE's registration page this is what I saw, all sections except the Gladiator Male Individual were showing as available.

Or, here is an idea... there are other bands open for registration with lovely costumes! Maybe you should check them out! If not, good luck choosing between Arctic Warriors and Sashura, I would go with the former! Personal choice.

Same experience here...logged in @ 12:01 (11:01 my time, my browser - Firefox - allows me to save my username and TLC code online)and every section but the Gladiator male Individual was there was the taking...within 2 minutes I was saving my receipt as confirmation of my purchase...and I only copied and pasted my address in the billing part, everything else I typed in.

I now notice that there is an "ADD PAYMENT" option when I log in (i can't see anything else but my own informaation)...if that means that I can pay the balance before I get to Trinidad, even better!!!

TYPO...there for the taking...sorry!

But wait...I thought that people aren't allowed to transfer costumes this year? I thought that the deposit is forfeited and you have to go through Tribe??? So it the Carnival Junction stuff even valid?

You can still buy someone's costume but they can't transfer it to your name. They will have to give you a letter authorizing you to collect it along with a copy of their ID.

that's what i thought also, HQ, let's see how they enforce it!

I also was done by 12:02 with my first choice, Persian Gold! The people who are complaining just need to learn to move faster and be prepared!

I got Persian at 12:00 (and some seconds) but when I entered my cc info it said error. Now I know there was no error and that cc has zero balance. Oh well, too late to complain that if it let me chose Persian, it should have allowed the pmt for Persian.

Had the page loaded and waiting since 11:30am. All information was on a piece of paper next to laptop (quick fingers...no copy pasting). Logged in, didn't even check to see what was sold out or not, scanned page for section choice, clicked, entered all required info (made an error in entering expiration date, fixed it and moved on) clicked submit and ...success sis registered in her section of choice.

All done by 12:05pm...niceness :-)

@ Tru: if your cc was charged that should mean you are in, email tribe or post on their page (with your real name) and they will clarify for you.

@ Eloquence I got registered for another section, so my card was charged lol. Now I have to see if it was charged only once as I entered my cc info on multiple choices.

I must have the fairy on my shoulder too. I took my time, I scrolled down to my Mayan Eagle, I noticed all sections were open on the way. I was done and all paid up by 12:05! WoooHooo! Last year I was done by 12:08 and the payment had just gone thru when the site crashed. Gotta be sitting and waiting to get in. I was all set by 11:45 a.m. to hit enter.

The only thing that TRIBE can do (IMHO) to follow thru with their claim of not advocating resales is to now revoke the TLCs of the people who are so audacious as to immediately post their costumes for sale on Carnival Junction.

The people swapping costumes obviously want to be in the band but did not get in their preferred sections...so that is different.
