Now if one could get a Mayan Eagle backpack for much cheaper than what Tribe is offering I say more power to the buyer!

Just now Tribe would have to put bar codes on every piece of the costume to be scanned to ensure its authentic!

I thought about adding a small collar of feathers to Massai. I love Peter Elias and my loyalty held in picking Massai. My favorite costume yet is his African LoveBird from year before. The collar of blue feathers were to die for, in fact I made up my own brand of dance on the road wagging that collar back and forth with my shoulders :). I love his use of smooth beads where I won't have a problem with stockings getting snagged in the metal and stone garnishments on other costumes.(My stockings got caught last year in everyone eles's). With all this I picked Massai but I think its a little lacking and wish he could have brought the feathers in the headpiece to a collar (like ALB) just to add some more substance to the costume. I havent seen it in person but heard its beautiful. Any comments? I think once on the road we'll blend into each other and just look like a wall of multcolored beads. Will I get yanked out the band for adding my own embellishments?

The caveat to buying these backbacks is the costs. A "basic" or backline costume is already over $600 USD nowadays, unless you're playing in Oasis or somebody lower priced like that. Then add a basic backpack like the yellow one Saucy posted, for $200 USD. Right there you have an $800 USD costume, shipping costs not added. Is best you buy the band's fully loaded costume yes.

Nickles,
I admire your devotion to Peter Elias and his designs (I also really like that costume), but don't you find it a bit of an oxymoron that you want to add a feathered collar to it? Why not just be true to his design (since you love it so much)and to his research into the Masai tribe's garb, and honour the costume as it was designed to be worn?
Just a question..... of course you are free to do what you want with the merchandise you spent your own money on. Just a question ....

"We will be manufacturing the best quality of handmade carnival backpieces/ back packs for Road March 2011." Why do Jamaicans insist on calling carnival road march? That seriously annoys me for some reason.
