YUMA MEASUREMENT& REQUiRED INFORMATION FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION

So YUMA has just released this information for their online registration, no DATE given though. And  I  do agree on paying EXTRA to decorate the CORSET given it is a bigger surface area, however I am going to stick with my opinion that those supplying their own BRA should not not be charged $100.00US.

If you took the YUMA bra that came with the costume are you paying extra, so why if I am supplying my own bra should I pay MORE when I have to pay for the bra on top of that? From personal experience I actually got a discount from providing my own bra rather than being asked to pay more, very interesting indeed!

Please note the following required information for those registering online for YUMA MAS 2011 below.

Charging TT$600 ($100USD) to decorate a bra that is being supplied by the masquerader is madness.

I can probably understand the cost to decorate the corset which obviously would use more material, but even then, if you supplying your own corset it should still be less than TT$600 in my opinion.

I feel I going into the decorating bra/corset business. Holla!

Best you take the bra YUMA gives you and use the supplies to decorate the bra yourself......(or pay AC to do it...her fees are MUCH more reasonable!!)

I find it ridiculous that a date for online registration has yet to be announced. The secion I want is not available at the mas camp and I would feel much better if I knew when registration would begin.

This is the first I'm encountering this and it's ridiculous. YUMA needs to re-think their strategy, I have family members who always play with IP and they NEVER had to pay extra for her bustier. STUPES, YUMA need a wake up call.

I hope that corset fee is a typo (yeah right).
Plenty requirements and specifications dey, boy.
But I'll give YUMA points for thinking of details, like skin allergies and whatnot.

I'm just curious as to why date of birth is needed to register for a carnival costume, plus no tankinis, no whole suits, up to size C online..HMPH I see where YUMA going with this and charging 100 us extra is just a brilliant strategy if you want to turn off the more endowed sisters who need the extra support..SMH

Lets take your car analogy.

This is like buying a car and you want to GIVE the car company your own rims to put on before they even put on theirs. Is it possible that you get the rims that are supposed to come wit the car and is the car company expected to charge you extra seeing as they were going to put on rims anyway?

Funny I never put "Saucy" on my registration form, I operate as a MASQUERADER first and foremost even before my blog was popular and before the people involved in mas knew my face, I do not ask for or demand any special treatment.

I was not the ONLY person offered a discount for giving my own bra, if you want to argue that it was specific to my section leader that may be true as she offered everyone giving their own bra a discount.

The only other time I have gotten a refund with TRIBE was Myths and Magic and the headpiece/backpack never arriving/ late fiasco. I was not even the FIRST one to get a discount, they gave the frontline in Mystique the discount first, ask Msjbunny she got a full refund.

All the frontliners in my section got a partial refund for the late back pack and each one was called on Carnival Monday night to ask if they wanted the backpack delivered home.

Strange as this may seem this has nothing to do with ME and very much to do with how TRIBE handles their costumers, complaints and running their business.

Before registering, I spoke with someone from the YUMA committee, expressing my concerns over a bra that fit correctly and my inability to tolerate under wire bras. I asked them could I send my own, and the answer was "yes".

A few later, at in house registration, this request was reiterated, and I was once again told, "fine.. this is not a problem".

So today, imagine my shock and dismay when I see

1) I have to pay not just a little extra, but a WHOLE LOT extra to send my own bra and

2) They are NOW saying that the bra has to be an under wire bra.

If this is their policy fine.. but I think it would have been better to let folks know this UP FRONT. This way, the masquerader would have been an informed consumer who could make the decision of "yay" or "nay" to accept this policy or not.

My utmost concern is comfort, and I pray that I can send my non under wire bra as was the original agreement with YUMA. I will then join the group outcry about the decoration fee.

What a double slap in the face it would be if they tried to force me into a under wire bra AND make me pay for it.

I pray that this is sorted out and YUMA will do the right thing.

Steups. Whatever yes. If the charge makes no sense to you, don't pay it, do it yourself or just don't play with YUMA. Take your $3,800 to TRIBE and be content with your bikini & headband! (I still cannot get over the headband!!)

It's a business people. I assume that the charge covers the fact that it will not be bulk ordered, it will be done by hand in Trinidad, it will most likely be a bigger surface area, VAT (?) and profit margin. Not to mention that it is something that they possibly do not want to do too much of / encourage. If you somehow find that insulting, well, can't please everyone. This is only my guess.

I would like to think that even if I were hypothetically not giving in my bra for whatever reason and I took the same size bra from YUMA's camp that they would have to get the bra made and decorated locally anyway...right. People seem to be missing the point that own bra or not if I wanted a size 44DDD bra and I was not providing my own YUMA would find someone locally to make the bra and have a team on hand to decorate ALL the bras that have to be done here. I have seen this being done by Richard and Anthony at their production house. They decorate the larger cup sized bras themselves whether or not the person gave in a bra or the band provided it. How come they don't charge everyone with a larger cup size $100.00 extra seeing as they have to order and decorate the bra independent of the bulk orders from China?

So,all this talk about it taking extra labour, not being bulk ordered, vat etc etc is a moot point because they would have to decorate the larger bras for people who took the option of the mas camp providing the bra with the costume. The fact is not many people submit their own bra, lots of D cup and over ladies take the bras that come with the costume and those bras are sourced and decorated locally. To me the fee is more of a deterrent to the women who want to provide their own bra.

And what is the deadline for? I know with Island People the deadline is so that the bra can be submitted along with the rest of orders to China where it is decorated there, so lets assume that YUMA is tossing in your big bra in that order and it is not even being decorated locally, it is being done among all the other bulk orders, what is the problem? Shipping the bra to NY and then to China? Is that what the cost is for?

All these excuse should be for people who don't know what goes on behind the scenes, fortunately I do and I am not buying the excuses at all. But whatever, it is their business and they reserve the right to set their rules and regulations and as a potential customer I also reserve the right to state my feelings on the matter, freedom of speech and all that.

Personally if I were in YUMA I would order the largest size bra the mas camp provides and then take the decorations off and decorate my own bra myself or find someone (Afro Chic) to decorate it for me. I was not paying the $100.00US in addition to the price of a new bra.

I have no issue with the additional fee for the corset, but if I picked up my corset and it only had two string of beads I was making noise!
