Trinidad Carnival Diary (TCD) is a Carnival website run from Trinidad and Tobago. This page explains what we collect when you read the site, leave a review, send a form or list something, and what we do with it. Last updated 16 September 2026.

Just reading
You can read everything on TCD without an account. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running. They are not used to identify individual readers and are rotated on the host’s normal schedule.
Band, fete and service pages keep a simple view counter so listing owners can see how their page is doing. It counts page loads only. It does not record who you are.
Reviews and comments
When you review a service or comment on a post we collect the name, email address and text you enter, plus your IP address and browser type to help catch spam. Your name and review are published; your email address is not. Reviews are moderated before they appear.
If you tick the box to save your details, a cookie keeps your name and email in your browser for one year so you do not have to type them again. Reviews and comments stay on the site indefinitely so the record is complete. Ask us and we will remove yours.
Forms
The contact, listing and advertising forms send what you type to us by email and keep a copy on the site so we can follow up. We use it only to answer you and to set up whatever you asked for. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Listing a fete, band or service
Buying a listing package creates an account so you can edit and renew your listing. We keep your name, email address and order history for as long as the account exists. Payment details are handled by the payment provider at checkout and never reach our servers. Business contact details you put on a listing (phone, WhatsApp, links, location) are published because that is the point of the listing; you can change or remove them from your account at any time.
Cookies
TCD sets cookies only when you do something that needs one: saving your review details, logging in to a listing account, or keeping a cart during checkout. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you choose “Remember me”. Our host’s page cache may set a short-lived cookie so it serves you the right version of a page. There is no advertising cookie set by TCD.
Advertising
Adverts on TCD are sold directly and served from our own site. We report views and clicks to advertisers as totals only. If we ever add a third-party ad network this page will say so first.
Links and embedded content
Ticket links, band registration links and social links take you to other companies’ sites, which have their own privacy policies. Some posts embed videos or social posts; those embeds behave as if you visited the other site directly and may set their own cookies.
Who we share data with
Our web host, which stores the site, and our email provider, which delivers form messages. The payment provider at checkout, if you buy a listing. Nobody else. We do not sell or rent reader data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. That covers reviews, comments, form messages and listing accounts. Email us and we will sort it within a few days. Data we have to keep for tax or legal reasons, such as order records, stays for the period the law requires.
Changes
If how we handle data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
